June is that month of the year where the Academic school year is coming to a close. For all of us (parents, children, and teachers) it has been a journey filled with joy, laughter, friendship, and growth, indeed.
It’s the month of the year for new beginnings and bittersweet farewells.
On Friday, June 3rd, our Pr-Kindergarten/ Kindergarten children will be graduating. Many other students are making the transition to different classrooms and meeting new friends.
As the children traverse to the next chapter of their Montessori journey, they will continue to build and strengthen friendships and keep growing socially and academically. Congratulations to all!
Just a friendly reminder that school will be CLOSED next Monday, May 30, 2016 in observance of Memorial Day.
Enjoy your weekend!
Achievement Days for the children will be on:
June 1st , Wednesday for classrooms 3, 7, 8 and 6 and
June 2nd, Thursday for classrooms 1, 2, 4 and 5 .
Frosted sugar cookies will be served instead of our daily snack in celebration for end of the year. The frosted sugar cookies contain milk, eggs, wheat and soy.
This month, we will finish our monthly themes of South America, Strait, Mammals & Plants but will merge into our summer curriculum starting on June 13th. This year, LAPMS will be focusing on Prehistoric Animals and Transportation. The children will be so knowledgeable at the end of the summer; many will be amazed!
As summer is approaching, many fun outdoor activities will be incorporated such as watermelon day, ice-cream day, bubble day, water play day and much more. Please stay attentive by our emails and email reminders.
Dear LAPMS Niles Families and Friends,
We are pleased to inform you that we will be opening a second Kindergarten classroom at LAPMS Niles effective on September 2016 due to high demand. Classroom 3 will become the second Kindergarten classroom. The teachers are fully qualified and competent in teaching the Montessori materials. The curriculum, policies and procedures for classroom 3 will be the same as classroom 2.
Kindergarten overview: The children in the Kindergarten classrooms are mixed age groups of 4.5 through 6 years old. The children in the Kindergarten classrooms do not have nap time. Instead of nap time, the children will have cultural studies during the afternoon work period. Please be informed that at the beginning of the school year 2016-2017, children who are five years old by September 1, 2016 will be considered Kindergarteners, and children who turn five years old after September 1, 2016 or are under five years old are considered Pre-K students.
Please notify the front desk if you decide to continue your child’s enrollment for Summer and/or Fall semester for the school year 2016-2017. A 30-day notice is required if your child goes on vacation or if your child is withdrawing from school.
We continue to provide great opportunities to our families and their children with care and compassion.
Please speak to me or the front desk for questions and concerns. Have a great day!
Thank you so much for attending our Mother’s Day breakfast this morning. It was a pleasure to see all your lovely faces. We hope that you have a great weekend and a wonderful Mother’s day!
